Resident Shoots Burglars in Home Invasion Via WSYX ABC6

A resident was fighting back after burglars broke into his apartment at 5876 Chatford Drive in East Columbus about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. Columbus police say the person who lives in the upstairs apartment shot the suspects who were breaking in through the front door.

Police said a 23-year-old man and his girlfriend pulled into a parking lot to buy a cellphone from a person they did not know. The man was sitting in the backseat of their car with the couple’s baby. When the group arrived to meet the couple, one of several suspects tried to climb into the car and rob the man. The would-be thief brandished a shotgun.

Police say a resident fired shots at two suspects who broke into a Tempe home on Thursday. Tempe police spokesman Mike Pooley said a woman heard a knock at the door of her home near McClintock Drive and Guadalupe Road and thought it sounded odd.
